Don’t let perfect get in the way of progress

Perfection may seem like a mark of quality at first glance. But often, it is well-disguised stagnation.

Because perfectionism and perfecting something are not the same. Perfectionism asks:

  • How do I come across?
  • How do I avoid mistakes?
  • How do I look good?

It is driven by fear – of criticism, of failure, of imperfection. Perfecting something asks different questions:

  • Does it serve its purpose?
  • Is it getting better?
  • Does it create real value?

This is not about outward appearance, but about excellence in action. Perfectionism holds us back. The desire to do something truly well moves us forward. Progress does not come from being flawless, but from courage, learning, and consistent commitment.

Let go of the need to be perfect and start becoming better.
